This morning, I had a long conversation with Paul's widow, Cynthia. I had learned ten years ago while organizing the 30 year reunion, that Paul had undergone surgery to remove a large tumor from his brain (I think about 1990). The surgery was successful, but the chemo and radiation afterward, resulted in a number of strokes. His mind remained sharp, trapped in a body that betrayed him. Cindy remained his caregiver through it all. But this morning, I learned that he had "lost the battle" in September, 2008. He and Cindy had met at a Bible college in Joplin, Missouri. They married January 1, 1972. They lived in Cindy's hometown, Tulsa, OK. They had two sons, now ages 31 and 34. She misses Paul still........ She says her boys would LOVE to hear stories about their dad. If you remember Paul, share your memories here.
Paul and I used to hang out as young boys and went through Boy Scouts together. He was a good friend and kept me from getting into real trouble many times. I know he is in a better place now and we will meet again in another place of peace and joy. RIP my friend.
