Kent passed away in 2009 after battling lung cancer. He didn't smoke & was a Dr. himself. He seemed to be making progress on the battle with cancer, and then died suddenly of a heart attack. He had moved back to Amarillo while he was fighting the fight. It was so tragic. I did see and still see his mother, Ilene Roberts Balliett, frequently and it has been very hard on her to lose her only child. If you know her, please convey your thoughts to her.
update--Ilene, Kent's mother passed away, from cancer also, in May, 2010. Now she's with Kent & her 1st husband, Kent's father.
