I remember Leslie as a tall, lanky guy (like a lot of us) who always had a smile on his face and was friendly to everyone.  I hope you had a great life, Leslie.

Leslie and I were friends through high school and generally hell rasiers in Boy Scout Troop 80.  We had some great times and a lot of fun.  He went on to honorably serve his Country for 20 years.  Thanks Leslie!  Well done!   See you on the other side brother.

June 28, 1952 - July 3, 2018

Charles Leslie "Les" Garrett, 66, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

Les was born on June 28, 1952 in Amarillo to Clarence and Dovie Garrett. He was raised in Amarillo, where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1970. He then attended Texas Tech University before enlisting in the United States Army in 1971. He proudly served for 20 years, stationed mostly in Germany. He earned 1 Meritorious Service Medal, 6 Army Commendation Medals and 2 Army Achievement Medals before his honorable discharge as a Master Sergeant (Ret.) in 1991.

Les married Neva Davee in 1999 in Amarillo. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling (scoring a perfect 300 game.) He also enjoyed golfing and fishing the lakes of Texas. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved his Texas Tech Red Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. Above all, Les loved his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family.
