Ginger died just yesterday morning. Vicki wrote and let me know along with Robbie and Bertie. Ginger has been a very good friend since the 7th grade at Davy Crockett. She had ALS for the past year or so and we knew that it was terminal but it still seemed too soon. We exchanged texts just a couple of weeks ago and she seemed to be doing well. Ginger is in heaven now with our Lord Jesus Christ and she's no longer sick or weak from that cruel disease. I really can't remember a time when she wasn't smiling and didn't have something good to say about everyone. Knowing and loving her was a complete joy and I'll always cherish her memory. She was a very special person and it was my honor to be her friend. God bless you, Ginger, for all of the joy and laughs you brought to many people. You were one of the great ones.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news about Ginger!!  She was absolutely one of the sweetest people I ever knew...  That little teeny sweet voice, always with a smile on her face!  Praying blessings and love and peace to her sweet family...Ginger, you will truly be missed!

I loved Ginger. When I landed at Crockett as a country bumpkin from Claude, she was so welcoming and sweet to me.  Rest In Peace sweet Ginger and I pray for comfort and peace for her family🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰 Dena

Very sad news to hear about Ginger. She lived down the street from me on Hanson Road in Belmar. She always had a wonderful smile and was a kind person to everyone that came into her life. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Although we met at Crockett Jr. High, my real friendship with Ginger started after we left high school. We had run into each other at the Byron Nelson golf tournament in 1977 and at that time planned a Dallas area class reunion that we held at Flag Pole Hill near White Rock Lake. Then, when I was working on the 30-year reunion Ginger stepped up and was instrumental in negotiating with the Big Texan, from the menu to the decorations. She was so good at that! She and her son helped to stuff hundreds of envelopes with reunion info that we sent out to our classmates. And again, she was a key partner (with Bertie and me) in coordinating another Dallas area reunion  couple of years ago.

Ginger's husband, Doug notified me on Saturday morning (October16) to tell me that Ginger has passed away earlier that morning. It was only August 2020 that Ginger, Doug, Bertie and her husband, Jim, Robbie and I donned our masks and met for lunch. At that time, Ginger shared with us that she had been diagnosed with ALS. I remember how my heart sunk, knowing what that horrible diagnosis meant. There is no cure! But, typical Ginger, she was positive and hopeful. Over the next year, we texted often. I sent her a couple of books, and several cards. She always responded with a text, beginning with: "Sweet Vicki..."  I had texted her just two weeks ago to schedule a visit. She texted that her mom was visiting... Her last message to me was: "my sweet friend, I'll get back..." It was not to be.

Oh, how I'm gonna miss 'Sweet Ginger!"
